Puodziu Street 17 in the centre of the old town in Klaipeda.
We booked in advance by email and warned that we would arrive later than the normal booking in time limit of 22h00. We were charged 69 Litas ($85 australian) for two people with breakfast in the room in a suite with ground floor bed/sitting room, bathroom and toilet with a window opening onto the gated rear courtyard.
In the event we arrived after dark at 22h30 to find the office manned by a very obliging receptionist who showed us around and allowed us to leave our bikes in the office overnight. The building is 400 years old and has recently been renovated to a superlative standard. The woodwork, doors and window frames are all natural pine beautifully finished. The plumbing fittings are all the latest design. There is a witness window in one wall to display the original brickwork giving an idea of the history of the place. The windows are double glazed and the room is completely peaceful at night. Puodziu Street is paved with very old, irregular large stones which are shocking for cycling over.
This is a really excellent stay. Strongly recommended!
