Willie Wagtail is a bird who hunts for flies. He spends a large part of his time at or close to ground level. He can spot a fly at an amazing distance. I am always astonished by how far away the wagtails can spot their target at dusk when I can hardly see the birds.

Camilla has named our local resident Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina successfully raised two fledglngs last year from a nest in our Tamarillo tree. There were originally three hatchlings but one fell from the nest and died. This year Willie and Wilhelmina built a new nest during the last week in September and started sitting the first week of October. By 20th of October there were at least two baby birds hatched.
